James Whitehead is known for being a Christian music artist from Lancaster, PA, with a passion for music that began at an early age. Today, he praises God through music and ministry, exploring the struggles of life and the hope we find in Christ.

James has a deep passion to bring the message of hope of Jesus Christ to overcome the difficulties of life, connecting others with God, answering God’s call to preach and make music. His debut single “Living Hope”, released on May 2024 is a celebration of Jesus and finding identity in Christ.

NY Elite Magazine Exclusive Interview with the Christian Music Artist James Whitehead

NY Elite: Can you tell us about the new music coming up? What can we expect from you with this release?

James Whitehead: My song James Whitehead- Living Hope just released May 31, 2024. This song is a celebration of Jesus to put it simply. It’s an outpouring of gratitude and it speaks to our identity as believers. It touches on our human nature and God’s divinity. This one has a catchy pop music beat.

My co-producer and multi-instrumentalist Tony Mac played a huge role on this song. Matt Houston played the cajon drum. We are all really happy how the song turned out and excited to continue creating songs for you and for God.

NY Elite: What inspires you to create music?

James Whitehead: I think it’s a great way to connect with other people, while leaving a story and feelings with the listener. We can always go back to it and relive it. 

NY Elite: What does music mean to you and why is art important?

James Whitehead: Music and art can help us through dark times or celebrate good times. When we can relate to someone else it can be healing many artists put their heart and perspective into their work. That’s the best art in my opinion.

NY Elite: What kind of impact would you like your music to have?

James Whitehead: My music centers on my faith so i hope it will increase Faith on the earth. I hope it will encourage people when they feel discouraged.

I hope my music will open people’s eyes to God. I hope it will reach all people who need to hear good news. I hope it helps people right where they’re at in their life.

NY Elite: We have been following your inspirational faith videos. Can you tell us about how God has played a role in your life and the purpose of praising God?

James Whitehead: God has completely transformed me from a lost person. Who was self destructing from drug and alcohol abuse eight years ago, to a completely new person in every way. Praising God is important because He is in charge not us. I believe we need that constant reminder. This action also can be refreshing and very uplifting.

NY Elite: How does your faith inspire your music?

James Whitehead: My Faith is at the forefront I just want people to know Jesus is here for them. I didn’t know that growing up I hated Jesus because I didn’t understand. I hope others will be inspired to seek Him through this ministry work.

NY Elite: What are your life’s greatest joys?

James Whitehead: I’m just happy to be alive, I really shouldn’t be. Close friends and family. Meaningful bonds with God and people I care about are my greatest joys.

NY Elite:   When did you begin creating music? Any favorite songs/albums or memorable moments you would like to share?

James Whitehead: Music has long been a passion of mine since I was 12 or 13. I started playing guitar and writing original music when I was 14. After God saved me in my third and final rehab when I was 26 I started to see a vision for what my ministry has become now. I started playing guitar for the Lord instead when I was 30. I’m 34 now releasing my first Christian song. I love music from every era.

NY Elite: How would you like to be remembered as an artist, and what legacy do you hope to leave behind?

James Whitehead: Just want to be remembered as a man who kept Faith in Jesus. That people would see He can change you and your loved ones for the better. All things are possible.

NY Elite: What else are you working on? What can we expect to see and hear from you in the future?

James Whitehead: I am recording music videos a lot lately and on the music side of my life I have 3 other songs in the works that are half way recorded. I will most likely release them all as singles. I have a few more songs that have to be started from scratch to record. So I will be working on much more over the next few years. I will be preaching and sharing my Faith pretty much on a daily basis on my social media accounts.
