NY Elite: Congratulations on being an ISC finalist. What does it mean for your work to be selected at the International Screenwriting Competition in New York? 

Loi Huynh: I think it’s a great accomplishment to stand out of the crowd understanding how many talented people there are out there and submitted in this festival. 

NY Elite: Can you tell us about the work that you participated with at ISC? What is the story about? 
Loi Huynh: The story is about an escaped Jewish Prisoner who bumps into a wounded Nazi soildier. The Jewish Prisoner comes to an inner crossroads debating on helping a hurt fellow human and risking capture or leaving the enemy to die in the cold winter of eastern Europe.

NY Elite: Can you tell us yourself and your artistic talents? 
Loi Huynh: I graduated from Emerson College with a degree in Directing Narrative Fiction and since then have been committed to story telling via shots films. My films have been selected and among many different Film Festivals around the world and have been nominated for awards in them as well.

NY Elite: What scripts have you written so far? 

Loi Huynh: I’ve written many scripts over time, but the most recent one is called ‘Breathe’.

NY Elite: Top 3 favorite projects that you have been involved in?

Loi Huynh: One of my earliest films ‘Home For The Night” is near and dear to my heart, Bound East for Cam Ranh, one of my more successful films, and ‘Breathe’ my first animated project.

NY Elite: What type of scripts do you want to write in your career?
Loi Huynh: I think my strengths in storytelling are the dramatic, spiritual journeys that hopefully touch people’s hearts.

NY Elite: As a writer, what is the most important aspect of building a character? 

Loi Huynh: I think understanding and defining the protagonist’s goal and position in life will help flush out the characters desires.

NY Elite: What projects are you currently working on?
Loi Huynh: I am currently working on my first feature film!

NY Elite: Do you express yourself creatively in any other ways?

Loi Huynh: Yes! I take on other small projects to get my brain to think, such as photography and creating drone compilations.

NY Elite: What advice would you give to someone who wants to have a career in filmmaking/writing?

Loi Huynh: NEVER STOP WRITING!
